"Dr. Phils Relationship Rescue, does it work?"

     I watched one of Dr. Phil's Relationship Rescue Programs and I found it quit interesting that people just aren't understanding the little things. The things that really make a relationship work. There was a lot of talk about working together and helping each other and making an effort and this is all very good advice but what about the little things that keep the game going. The things that keep the attraction for each other. There was a lot of talk about how to get along in a relationship but there didn't seem to be much talk about what will put the zest back into the relationship and I'm not talking about the bar of soap here.

     In watching this Dr. Phil's Relationship Rescue Program something came back to me about when a man loses the woman he loves. It's a precise moment and that moment is the exact point where the woman deems him to be weak. Now she may notice little weaknesses but as long as those weaknesses aren't more than her attraction is for him then he is okay but as soon as those weaknesses are more than her attraction then she is out of there, so to speak. I see it all the time in potential divorces where the woman is pushing for the divorce and she will mention something that clearly indicates she has seen her partner as weak. Sometimes they will just blurt out that he is weak or he is a wuss or some such thing. The man has to always APPEAR strong. Notice I said appear because let's face it, men can't always be strong. As it is men die younger than women because of all the stress this puts on them and then they can't even cry to get it out because that will be a weakness.

     What bothers me here is that people are given advice to become good friends and get along and make things easier for each other but not necessarily romantic lovers and exciting partners in love or should I say in attraction. The thing that maybe does work here is that some of their time is freed up so they have time to address the little things that brought them together in the first place so this is a good thing but why not learn how to keep a relationship alive and exciting so that it never gets into a mess in the first place. If there is a strong attraction between each partner then a relationship will weather most storms and that attraction will and can grow into a deep, deep love that will last an eternity.
