Women don't necessarily like to be given solutions. They basically just want to be listened to. Yes, this is a problem, especially when they tell you the same thing five days in a row and won't do anything to rectify the situation they are talking about and won't listen to your solutions. The best way to handle this is to ask them a question like "So what do you want to do about it?" or "What do you think you should do about it?" In other words ask them what their solution is, don't give them a solution, even if you know what they should do. Have patience!!! (See Chapter on "Patience is a Virtue") By asking the right question they will discover, on their own, the best course of action. I've heard many a man say "You can't tell a woman anything." So don't bother trying, it will only get you gray hairs.
Another thing is instead of a solution, give them another problem. It draws their attention away from their current problem. It's something like if a person has a headache, step on their toe. They'll probably forget all about their headache as they have to attend to their toe. Okay, don't really do this, it's just a point I'm trying to make. To give them another problem, just ask them a question as in the examples above.
